DISCOVERY PLACE/BRYCE'S CAFETERIA

The Discovery Place offers hands-on exhibits related to science and history. It is a very popular attraction for children and even adults offering a science lab, exhibits on family life, health, electricity and sound. Discovery Place also has a one-of-a kind sound wall standing 12 feet tall.

Before The Discovery Place, this building was home to the famous Bryce's Cafeteria. Bryce's was founded in 1931 by Bryce Lawrence, Sr. and has been serving great food to the Texarkana area ever since. The restaurant has been family owned and operated since opening, and has been ran by Bryce's sons, Bryce Jr. and Richard for more than 40 years. They are proud to serve the same food their father served them when they were little. The Chicago Tribune said "Bryce's Cafeteria may have better food for the money that any place on Earth." Bryce's was also featured in Southern Living Magazine for its wonderful desserts, and on The Food Network's, "The Secret Life Of." Bryce's Cafeteria is now located at 2021 Mall Drive in Texarkana, Texas.
